Fusion 360’s ‘Manufacturing’ workspace can be used as a CAM tool to generate toolpaths and GCODE files that can be used by the Shopbot CNC to run a ‘Cut Job’.
Fusion 360’s CAM workflow is intuitive and easy to use.
Fusion 360 CAM Workflow Overview
- DESIGN Model: Body > Components
- MANUFACTURING Model: Arrange components
- Cut Job SETUP: Tool, Material, Cut Operation
- Output GCODE: Post Processing > Shopbot OpenSBP
1. Design Model: Body >> Components
- Model the object in the Design Workspace
- Convert each cut part from a Body to a Component
2. Manufacturing Model + Arrange
- Change from the Design Workspace to the Manufacturing Workspace
- Select the correct Units for the CNC machine. Confirm that ‘Model Units’ and ‘Shopbot Units’ are the same...if not, convert ‘Model Units’ to ‘Shopbot Units’
